Equity investments are more volatile but have the capability to generate inflation beating returns. Therefore both asset classes have the place in investors’ portfolio. Infact an appropriate combination of these assets classes as per the risk appetite of the investor can help investor in achieving his financial goals. For example a combination of 15% equity & 85% fixed income can generate a regular income for the investor without consuming the investors’ capital.
